Spain – May 2023

A 10 day workshop with a group of photographers. We spent 5 days in the mountains near Crémenes & Almanza including trip to Picos de Europa & Montaña de Riaño and 5 days on the plains in Laguna de Taray in Castile-La Mancha.

Spain - Nov.2021

A one week workshop for raptor photography from hides with a group of clients. We spend 3 days in Alpasin hides in Andalucia, and 4 days in Laguna de Taray in Castile-La Mancha. A great group, super weather and many fantastic birds.

Spain - July 2019

An 8 day trip to various hides in central and northern Spain. 5 days in fantastic hides in Laguna de Taray with the Stone Curlew as target bird, followed by 3 days in the Cantabrian mountains. Highlights here were Wallcreeper, Bluethroat, Water Pipit, Ring Ouzel, Rock Thrush and many others.

Andalucia - July/Aug.2018

An 11 day vacation to southern Spain and Portugal. Spend time both in Cadiz and Chipiona for Little Swifts and a week in Tarifa for the start of migration (Black Kites & White Storks). Black Kites in the thousand trying to cross in the strong winds were great. Half a day with guide produced Red-necked Nightjar and White-rumped Swift.

Extremadura - March/April 2010

A one week family vacation to Extremadura. A fantastic area to drive around in, to photograph birds - especially raptors.

Spain - Jan.2023

A workshop with a group of photographers. We spend 4 days in hides in Laguna de Taray in Castile-La Mancha, and after i continued n my own for to days in hides with much snow in the mountains in Crémenes.

Andalucia & Extremadura - Nov.2018

A 5 day trip to Spain. Spent 3 days in Alpasin hides in Sierra Morena in Andalucia, and 1 day in hide with Photoraptors in Sierra de San Pedro in Extremadura. Highlights were Iberian Lynx, Iberian Eagle, Bonelli's Eagle & Golden Eagle.

Extremadura - April 2018

A 5 day trip to Extremadura. Spend time in Monfrague, Saucedilla & other classic locales. Visited Hide la Cañada for Vultures and another one for Roller. Weather most days were challenging with no sun.

Andalucia - April/May 2013

A one week trip with a good friend to Tarifa and areas around Gibraltar. Target was the Honey Buzzard spring migration. Some days the hawks came in close to Gibraltar, but the best migration was seen from the mountains at Bolonia. Highlight was several trips into La Janda with many Spanish specialities.

Extremadura - Dec.2014

A one week trip to Extremadura - Sierra de San Pedro (raptor-hides) and Monfrague. Air France lost my suitcase, and when I got it 3 days later it had been emptied of all electronics, binoculars, batteries, chargers etc. When I couldn't charge my camera-batteries I had to cut the trip short and fly home. Never Air France again...!
