In 2010 I won the title of “Nature Photographer of the Year” in NFD (Association of Danish Nature Photographers).

Although I don’t often participate in photo competitions, I have been fortunate to win a few awards over the years:

• BirdGuides Photo of the Year (1st place in 2018, and 7th place in both 2017 and 2019)
• Nordic Nature Photo Contest (premiered in “Birds” in 2019 and “Mammals” in 2011)
• Canon Denmark & Zoom Magazine (1st place in 2011)
• British Birds – Bird Photograph of the year (3rd place in 2009)
• NFD (Nature Photographers in Denmark) (1st place in 3 categories and overall winner in 2010, several category placements in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009)
• IWP (International Wildbird Photographer) (1st place in category “Birds in Landscape” 2006)
• DOF (Birdlife Denmark) – (2nd place in category “Nature” in 2006)
